Unless you have been living underneath a rock and dont live in the UK. You wilol have no doubt have heard the news that the largest IT training provider here had applied for voluntary insolvancy!
Just my luck that the company that went bust was the one that I used to work for and not only that was the one that I was doing my MCSE training with.
I would love to continue the training elsewhere but the hard reality is that I cant afford to do that at this point in my life. I will have to put this blog on hold for the time being but later I do intend to come back to it as I really want to get this qualification.
I hope to speak with you lot soon!

IT Training Decision Has Been Made
As many of you will no doubt know. When you are attending IT training and in particular, studying for an MCSE certification, you need to decide what technologies of Microsoft you are looking to learn.
I have decided on my first IT course and it is going to be course code 6445. To the non-techies this is the Small Business Server course and it runs for 5 days, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Oh the joy! :P
Its going to be hard work but I will be getting the courseware manuals sent to me soon so I will be doing some pre course reading so I am prepared for the lessons. I just hope the subject is not too dry for me and I dont fall asleep in the middle of the class!
In the next post I will let you know how I got on and who knows, by then I may even have decided on what my next course will be haha.

Still not decided on what IT course to take
I have yet to decide what path I will take for my MCSE training. Its turning into a tougher decision than I had thought it would be. I could go down a networking route but software development has always interested me.
One thing is for sure, whichever IT training course I decide on doing, I will have my work cut out for me. I'm not he most technical person but I do feel I am a quick learner so It is going to be a challenge no matter what way I look at it.
I have friends who have studied for the MCSE certification, some have passed and some have failed. I'm hoping to belong to the group that passes but I guess only hard work and time will tell. Oh well guess I better get back to the drawing board and look and some more of those IT courses. I hope to come to a decision soon.

Ive decided to go for MCSE training
Well after a few hours of hard thinking I believe it is best for myself to go down the MCSE route. I have always had an interest in the way software works and hopefully one I will have the ability to release my own software.
The MCSE requires me to sit 7 different Microsoft training courses which will in turn help me pass the 7 exams required for the qualification. Its going to take alot of hard work on my part as I'm not a very technical person at the best of times, however I wish to go into this with an open mind and I hope to do my best.
One of the major advantages of working for an IT training company is that they let their staff do training courses for free. God knows what the retail value of an MCSE is, i dread to find out! So I am only thankful that I am being given this opportunity to train with no costs involved.
Now that I have chosen my desired certification it is now a matter of choosing which individual courses I wish to take. With 7 courses to take, that adds up to a whopping 35 days of instructor led training I need to go to. I just hope I can retain all this technical information, I best get myself a good pen and paper!
I will keep you up to date on what courses I decide on doing in my next post, until then take care.

Welcome to my IT training journey
Hi all
My name is Scott and I work in the IT Training trade. One of the many benefits to this kind of industry is the fact I get the privilege to take course that many pay thousands of pounds for, for free!
This blog will be about my journey and my aim of achieving MCSE status in under a year. For those of you who are not in the know, to achieve MCSE you must sit and pass 7 Microsoft exams. For me to ever pass these exams, I will have to go on 7 Microsoft courses!
I'm not looking forward to the studying part of things as I expect I will have traumatic flashbacks to the good old days of school where I would spend most of my time looking outside the window as opposed to listening to the tutor like I should have.
Anyway, like I suggest I will be using this blog to discuss my journey to getting the qualification I hope for and hopefully it can be of some use to anyone thinking about doing a course to get the MCSE.
Till next time
Goodbye
Scott
